We arrived by train from Paris on the afternoon of June 10th and stayed until the morning of June 11th. We arrived into Luxembourg Train station (Gare Centrale).

We ended up staying at Empire Hotels which was a better price and location than the others. This wasn’t in the city center, but it was right next to the train station which is perfect for a quick trip. The hotel was very clean and had a free breakfast.

- Optional hidden spot: Neumünster Abbey (Grund) – Walk down into the valley. Lovely riverside cultural center, less crowded, with cafés to recharge.

How did ai do?
Overall Rating: 7/10
Would we go again? It really exceeded our expectations, we would come back with other people or as a pitstop during a longer travel day.
Favorite moment:
Bailey’s favorite: We saw someone wake boarding in the river with the cliffs behind him and it was so cool to see. Check our tiktok @weekend2world to see!
Parker’s favorite: Scott’s Pub! Sitting on the back patio along the Alzette river enjoying a Guinness was a very relaxing experience.
Any surprises? Free public transit was a very welcome surprise. We took advantage of this by riding the tram Northbound towards the city center and then took a city bus back to our hotel at the end of the day. They also had free wifi in the city. In addition, we were surprised by the mix of city feel paired with dense nature as we explored along the river and walked in the parks.
Anything we missed? We were’t able to check out Kirchberg Plateau, but it sounds like a cool spot.
Food spots AI recommended, but we didn’t have a chance to go:

Average step count per day: 14,500 steps
Nailed it: We appreciated how AI suggested some quieter, less touristy spots within the city while also guiding us through the main attractions within Luxembourg. We found some of the areas off the beaten path to be extremely unique, such as the valley surrounding Neumünster Abbey.
Needs work: We have found that AI sometimes suggests restaurants during times they are closed. For example, the lunch spot that was recommended didn’t open until 5:00 PM, forcing us to look elsewhere.
